1.2.0.86

Post by admin »

1) Added Avatar display. Download user guide from our website and read section 5.7 to know more about this feature. This is done in preparation to coming soon social features (riding/racing live over the Internet).
2) Fixed. Rare bug related to windows Direct Show subsystem that can pop up in some rare PC configurations and will prevent users from entering "Video" screen
3) Segment definitions got changed. This means that all previous segment performances are no longer valid. Very sorry about that.

Installed this latest build and took it for a quick spin. Everything looks good so far. Going to put in a longer effort tonight on a course that I've already ridden to try out the new avatar feature. Very much looking forward to the online multirider feature you're working on.

"5.7. Avatars
Starting with this version we are introducing avatars. Those are shapes layered on top over the video and represent your competitors. At the moment while we are preparing to introduce racing/riding over the Internet the avatars represent your previous performances on segments. They provide better visual feedback when you try to race against someone. By default the avatars are enabled. To change status of their display click “Avatars” button:
When enabled the LED to the right of the button is green, when disabled it is grey.

Maximum number of avatars showing at the same time is currently set to 10 in order not to clutter display. Also avatars spaced less than 10 cm apart distance wise will be culled so only one of those will be visible."

To see them you just need to start a ride near a segment or hill (not on one or it will be invisible) any segment/hill/mountain that you have done before. Im in the process of cleaning up the segments so they will effectively be any hill or mountain on the ride or a few choice locations on the flatter rides like 10mile TTs in Appleby & the flat canal ride in West Flanders & few town sign sprints. Later on you will probably be able to make your own local segments. But then we will also have past performances, shared performances (races), shared segment performances & various types of pacers. This is why some of the longer segments that had less meaning have been removed. They will effectively be replaced by smart pacers so you always have at least something to pace against. I want to generate that feeling of a real ride where things get a bit more serious on the hills but at the top its a armistice & you can recover properly.

Segments for well known hills/mountains should be very close to those found on Strava ;)
