How is the ride created - are the resistance hard coded by hand? the resistance is set manually by looking at the video? Or does it depends on GPS readings of altitude etc.

There were moments when the video and resistance did not match - i could tell the road was ascending but the software was providing a negative resistance so i had to coast or softly pedal......

There is no resistance. The software reports current road grade to a trainer that supposed to do the rest. The grade is derived from GPS data. As for accuracy we had many situations when users can not guess current grade by looking at video due to human perception issues exacerbated by the fact that the car is generally level to the road. If you believe that there is particular discrepancy then post SKU of the video and distance in meters from the beginning where you believe that the grade is wrong.
