Circles are very nice when there are just a few, so screen is not too cluttered.
But OK if you decide best to drop the circles because hardwired 5 per segment and overlapping segments means too many of them.
You have a point here and I'll do some thinking about it. For now (new release that is out already) nothing was dropped and the circles are still there.

The original idea for the segments were to allow you to race a previous opponent/live opponent up a hill or mountain, the solution is to simply have one segment for the hill or mountain & keep the avatar which is very useful as a training aid. No clutter & just like in real life the hill or mountain has a meaning.
