Neo cadence sensing and firmware update

This really belongs on the Tacx Neo forum, but people may ask here:

If you find the Neo reporting widely varying cadence e.g. 60-100 when pedalling steadily, you are not alone, and it has nothing to do with VR.
Just use a Garmin cadence sensor on your crank and VR will pick up a steady cadence.

Also, I've been working with Tacx support to try and get the Android app to update Neo firmware. No joy so far, but the Apple app updated the firmware to current (0.5.1 / 0.2.1 / 0.6.11) first time, so that may be worthwhile.

Cadence on NEO trainer is calculated based on torque changes which is in turn calculated from overvoltage/current generated by motor fromyour pedaling efforts. This will NEVER work reliably. So yes do use dedicated cadence sensor.
