Re: V-Ride server updated
I had exactly the same problem as described by rkoch615 yesterday evening, even after several attempts with computer stop and restart. Solved as follows : - disconnected computer from internet - stopped and restarted computer - started Vride : "get updates" showed up again - reconnected co...

Re: How is elevation gain calculated?
Here is a very explicit example regarding the "Lago d'Iseo" ride. This 25 km long ride is fairly flat. GoldenCheetah shows the profile of this ride using the elevation data out of the resulting TCX file without any modifications. The profile displayed by Strava, using the same TCX file, is...

Re: Stuttering video
Thanks for sharing your info. I guess there are more things involve here (dunno what exactly) since it runs just fine (no stuttering) on my daughter's Surface Pro 3 with Core I3 and integrated graphics from Intel. Just to add some information, the preliminary tests I carried out on both computers (...

Re: Generic ANT+ signal drops
4) Try to avoid ANT+ SUUNTO MOVESTICK MINI . It does not have good radio and leads to frequent intermittent transmission loss. We have contacted couple of other software vendors and they confirmed the same. I previously used a Suunto Movestick Mini with a long USB cable to place it closer to my sen...

Re: Stuttering video
To share my own experience, I tested 2 computers with my configuration (Lynx + Vride + videos stored on an external USB 3 hard drive). These 2 machines have very similar processors (Intel Core i5) with identical level of performance, both have the same amount of memory (8 GB) and a 250 GB SSD intern...

Re: analysing rides
GoldenCheetah is perfect to analyze rides. I know the "real" Alpe d'Huez climb very well (15 climbs to date). The elevation data of the Alpe d'Huez climb out of the Veloreality "Marmotte part 4" video are very accurate. ;) On this subject, see my post concerning the Lynx VR train...

Re: Whats on the way?
Next is one of the nicest climbs we have ever filmed, the southern accent of the Grossglockner in Austria, this is a two part ride as it also includes the climb up to the Franz Josefs Glacier so its kind of two climbs. Hehe, that's excellent news, Phil ! ;) Great rides to train for the Glocknerköni...
