Re: Workout uploads
Oops, my error. The 17 second activity was not the brief Marmotte ride, but appears to be an interval between the 34 minute and the 20 minute workout segments. Never stopped pedaling, didn't note any drop out of signal- weird.

Workout uploads
I had a curious experience with the upload of my workout from VeloReality to Strava today. Prior to the workout, I pedaled for 15-20 seconds in my Marmotte video to be sure HRM was working properly. The workout was a 5 minute warmup, 20 minutes at 115% ftp, 5 minutes easy, then another 20 minutes at...

workouts- new computer
After installing VeloReality software on a new computer, I was very pleased that I could move my prior rides and avatars from the old data files by copying "segperf" to the new computer. But then, when I tried to do one of my many saved workouts, aargh, none of them were on the new compute...

Re: Hill climbing calibration
Aha! The TACX Smart Vortex does indeed use spin-down calibration. Your anaysis makes great sense- except maybe the global warming thing- I read on the World Wide Web that it may not even exist. With all the variables, I don't think I will try to replicate the experiment- I'll just ride with the brak...

Hill climbing calibration
I'm looking for comments about whether my recent experience makes any sense to anyone. On two consecutive rides on the 7%-10% section of Ventoux 1, I found myself pushing a much higher gear than I could ever do in reality. I had grade reduction modest (7% to 20% real became 7% to 15%), I maintained ...

Re: Wednesday Race 7Pm GMT
Hi DickHeijkoop- I too have been trying to find the best method of organizing rides. Kostya (admin) has suggested using this "V-Ride Network" forum, and starting a new topic such as "Looking for group ride, day(s) of week, approximate GMT, route preference". There are many obstac...

Re: Difficulty Index?
After you have ridden once or twice, you will likely conclude that the "difficulty" of any course is of only minor consequence. For me, on an outdoor (real) route, a course is difficult only if I run out of gears. With just minimal use of VeloR's "grade reduction", I don't run ou...

Re: Just a thank you
I too want to thank the VeloReality guys for a terrific product! I've been riding with VR for about a year, and the scenery remains just plain gorgeous, and boredom is never the limiting factor! The legs and lungs give out long before that! And before admin gives Dabber a jab, the screen would get t...

Power equalization
I had a nice, prolonged ride with Polar_Ninja yesterday. The power equalization- Group Ride- option made it possible. I could not have kept up with his pace otherwise. Thanks to admin for the handicap-like function. I wish there was a mechanism for contacting Polar_Ninja (or other riders I may see o...

Re: Downloading videos
I just downloaded the four files of the Marmotte Grand Tour, using Free Download Manager and Firefox. The files are 10 to 12 gigs each. The first took about 90 minutes, averaging about 2 Meg/sec. The other three downloads were started at bedtime, and were done by morning- not blazing fast, but prett...
